Who We Are

Mountain Girl Rescue is an animal rescue agency based in Flagstaff, Arizona. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so all donations are tax-deductible. We work with partner agencies, volunteers, and veterinary clinics to save animals’ lives, meet their needs in transition, and secure permanent, loving homes for them.

Dog person, cat person, bird person, turtle person, pig person–if you’re an animal person, you’re one of us!

What We Do

Our knowledgeable volunteers and partners share one priority: to provide the very best care and treatment for the animals we work with. We take in dogs of all breeds, shapes, and sizes and work tirelessly through the chain of rescue to help them find forever homes.

We’re proud to be a part of Flagstaff and its surrounding communities, serving friends and neighbors whether they have two legs or four.

MGR Adoption Philosophy
Mountain Girl Rescue does not place animals “on hold” for potential adopters. Nor do we allow any unaltered animals–those who have not yet been spayed or neutered–to be adopted through our rescue. We view animal adoption as a serious obligation, a pledge to take on all of the necessary care and expense associated with providing a new pet with a safe and healthy environment in a permanent, loving home. Our adoption team helps match people and animals in the best interests of each. Because our vet and supply partners are local, we prefer Flagstaff adopters.
